The Sharks Community Service program is a part of the development of those life long lessons for our players.
1. There is no requirement to do community service to graduate at most schools. Students do this service for their college applications to distinguish themselves.
2. The only requirement for community service is for 8th graders who want to be considered for National Jr.Honor Society. They need to log in 12 hours of service on ePunahou.
3. The community service projects don't need to be approved by Luke Center - the students can do whatever they want. LC does have events posted that students can volunteer at, but these are just samplings of existing events.
4. As for documentation of hours served - it's by honor system. Punahou doesn't require documentation - if the students puts their volunteer time in a college app that school could run a check if they wanted.
